Ball State center out indefinitely with undisclosed ailment

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State center Kevin Cates is out indefinitely with an undisclosed medical condition.

The 6-foot-9 sophomore started 25 games last season, averaging 3.4 points and 5.1 rebounds.

The illness was not identified because of federal privacy regulations, assistant sports information director Chris Taylor said Monday.

"It is not an injury; it is a medical condition," Taylor said.
