Action is unrelated to internal probe

WACO, Texas -- Baylor senior starters Terrance Thomas and R.T. Guinn were ruled academically ineligible, leaving the Bears with just five scholarship players.

Thomas, the team's leading scorer and rebounder, and Guinn both were on the bench but not in uniform for Saturday's 76-65 loss to No. 21 Purdue.

Michael Rogers, the school's faculty representative to the Big 12 and NCAA, said the players' ineligibility isn't related to the school's internal investigation of the basketball ...
