DENTON, Texas -- Calvin Watson scored 16 points and Leonard Hopkins added 13 as North Texas defeated North Carolina-Wilmington 76-69 Tuesday night.

Watson hit 3-of-6 from 3-point range and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line for the Mean Green (2-1). Isaac Hines scored 12 points for North Texas, half of those on 3-pointers.

Mitch Laue led N.C.-Wilmington (1-1) with 18 points, including three 3-pointers. T.J. Carter added 14 points and John Goldsberry had 12.
