BALTIMORE -- Shane James was 9-for-9 from the field and scored a career-high 27 points to lead Loyola, Md. to a 97-89 victory over Niagara on Sunday, the Greyhounds' first win of the season.
James had eight rebounds and two assists for Loyola (1-5, 1-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), which shot 55 percent from the field.
Juan Mendez had 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Purple Eagles (4-2, 1-1), while Lorenzo Miles and James Mathias each scored 17 points.
