Iowa's Freeman to transfer to Southern Illinois

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Tony Freeman, Iowa's leading scorer from last season, is transferring to Southern Illinois.
The guard averaged 13.8 points and was a junior third-team all-Big Ten Conference selection by the coaches. He said earlier this month he would leave the Hawkeyes because Iowa coach Todd Lickliter did not value his ability. Freeman said Monday the Salukis gave him the respect he wanted.
