Report: Army fires coach Crews

Army officials refused to acknowledge a report Wednesday in the Times-Herald Record that said Army coach Jim Crews had been fired.

Assistants Kendrick Saunders and Jeff Platt wouldn't comment on the report and referred all questions to the sports information department.

An earlier call to Jim Crews wasn't returned. A secretary simply took a message and didn't say whether or not he would be in Wednesday. Men's basketball public relations contact Brian Gunning didn't return messages ...
