White, Bostick benched for opener

Minnesota (No. 25 ESPN/USA Today, No. 18 AP) will start the season without forward Royce White and guard Devron Bostick.

Following the Gophers' 98-49 exhibition victory over Minnesota State on Monday, coach Tubby Smith said Bostick and White, who were suspended indefinitely last week, will not play in the regular season opener on Friday night against Tennessee Tech.

"It could be two games. It could be five, six. It could be more," Smith said at the time of the suspension. ...
