Former Akron guard pleads guilty in drug case
AKRON, Ohio -- Former University of Akron point guard Alex Abreu has pleaded guilty in a drug case.
The 21-year-old was arrested March 7 after police say he accepted a package containing five pounds of marijuana.
On Monday, Abreu pleaded guilty to one count of felony drug trafficking.
He was sentenced to two years in prison and fined $5,000. But the judge suspended the sentence and waived the fine. Abreau was also placed on 18 months of probation and his driver's license was ...
