A talented recruiting class should help the Oregon Ducks compete in the Pac-12, a league that doesn't appear to have a clear favorite.

Hoiberg, Thibodeau not similar coaches

ESPN's Bradford Doolittle: "[Fred] Hoiberg is so polar opposite in personality from [Tom] Thibodeau that the buzzword you keep encountering is 'anti-Thibs.' One NBA executive I spoke to raved about Hoiberg, calling him a 'great guy with absolutely no ego.'" Strategy different too (Insider)

Bulls expected to hire Hoiberg Tuesday

Chicago is making a "major announcement" at 3 p.m. ET, the expectation being that the team will reveal the hiring of Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg. Hoiberg informed his ISU staff and players of his decision Monday before boarding a plane for Chicago, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

Khalid El-Amin's son, Ishmael, is a potential high-major prospect in 2017. Just added an offer from DePaul. Plays for Net Gain Sports.

One source close to Thibs on what he will do if doesn't get a job for this season. "He might watch film for a year straight. No lie."

Jeff Goodman @GoodmanESPN

Bulls players are gonna love Hoiberg because he is consummate "players coach." My guess is overall team physical/mental health will improve.

Myron Medcalf @MedcalfByESPN

Lot of folks will say Hoiberg only won at ISU due to transfers. But believing in, molding and unleashing Georges Niang was greatest feat.

He used to meet with Royce White every day in his office. Just talking to him, building that trust. Not easy. Knows how to connect w/guys.

Re: Hoiberg's people skills...I was with him after that tough OT loss to KU few years ago. Greeted construction guys in his office by name.

Myron Medcalf @MedcalfByESPN

Hoiberg won't have any trouble with NBA personalities. Coached Royce White, Deandre Kane, Chris Allen, Bryce Dejean-Jones and made it work.

Jeff Goodman @GoodmanESPN

Spoke to and texted with some NBA guys today on who likely to be next in the college-to-NBA-route. Answer: Bill Self or Kevin Ollie.

Bulls make the Hoiberg hiring official -- and college hoops has now lost Brad Stevens, Billy Donovan and Hoiberg to NBA in last two years.

Getting ready to say goodbye to Hoiberg

Fred Hoiberg has informed several Iowa State players and staff members that he is leaving, a source told ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman. Hoiberg, 42, spent four of his 10 seasons in the NBA playing for the Bulls. Deal 'all but complete'
