TO THIS POINT How They Got Here: Conference USA champion
Some things never change. Or at least in the case of Cincinnati, they seldom do. The Bearcats won a share of the regular season title (only once has Cincy not done so in nine C-USA seasons) and then won its fourth tourney title by beating co-champion DePaul. As one of five teams to share the title, winning the tournament separated the Bearcats a bit heading into the tourney. The late victories over DePaul, Louisville (twice) and Memphis proved Cincy could beat top teams after earlier losses to Louisville, Charlotte, Xaiver, Wake Forest and UAB.
PLAYER TO WATCH Jason Maxiell | F | Junior
It's hard to miss Cincinnati's Jason Maxiell and opponents usually don't forget him. The athletic forward leads the Bearcats in scoring, rebounding, blocked shots and attitude. Maxiell is a force around the rim, has soft hands and is very active on defense.
