TO THIS POINT How They Got Here: At-Large Bid Thanks to a pair of hard-fought, single-digit wins over Northern Iowa and Boston College, the Yellow Jackets are now the highest seeded team still standing in the Cinderella-laden St. Louis bracket.
To keep advancing, Paul Hewitt's squad must first end the March Madness dreams of one of those Cinderellas, Nevada, in what should be a high-scoring, up-tempo game on Friday night. The Yellow Jackets will go as far as their depth and their big-play-making little people (see: Jarrett Jack, B.J. Elder, Marvin Lewis) take them. But, Nevada's perimeter players are no slouches either as guard Kirk Snyder is the 2004 WAC Player of the Year and is fast becoming a household name after leading his team to wins over high-profile programs Michigan State and Gonzaga last weekend.
If Hewitt's club outscores Nevada as expected, then they'll face the winner of the Kansas-UAB game for a trip to the Final Four.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Jarrett Jack | G | Sophomore
Selecting Georgia Tech's player to watch is about as easy a decision as it gets. Not only can Jarrett Jack score and rebound, but the Yellow Jackets' floor leader is also among the ACC leaders in assists and steals. His unselfish play fuels a balanced attack.
