Shaw, Hatten charged with possession
NEW YORK -- St. John's guard Willie Shaw was arrested on a charge of marijuana possession, police said.
Shaw was charged with fifth-degree possession of marijuana on Tuesday in Queens, according to Officer Jennara Everleth, a police department spokeswoman.
Shaw's former teammate Marcus Hatten was also arrested on the same charge.
St. John's said Friday that Shaw was suspended indefinitely for violating unspecified team rules.
The senior guard, who served a suspension for using marijuana last year, averaged 4.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in the Red Storm's first two games this season.
