LOS ANGELES -- Junior college transfer Dwayne Shackleford will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday and miss three to five weeks for Southern California's basketball team.
The point guard tore his lateral meniscus on the Trojans' first day of practice last Saturday, the school said Monday.
Shackleford transferred to USC from a Maryland junior college this season and is expected to compete for playing time in the backcourt.
He could return in time for the Trojans' season opener against UC Irvine on Nov. 22.
