Basden, Greer also earn honors

IRVING, Texas -- Marquette senior Travis Deiner, Louisville junior Francisco Garcia and Charlotte junior Curtis Withers repeated Monday as members of the All-Conference USA team. Charlotte senior Eddie Basden and DePaul senior Quemont Greer also made the first team.

Diener leads the league in scoring with 19.7 points per game but missed the last three games of the regular season with a broken hand. He finished his career with 1,691 points, eighth on the league's all-time scoring list.

Garcia averaged 15.3 points and four assists per game in helping lead Louisville to the regular-season title. Withers led Charlotte with 17.5 points per game while teammate Basden averaged 15.3 points per game, 3.3 steals, 3.6 assists and 8.5 rebounds.

Greer led DePaul in scoring with 18.3 points per game and in rebounds with 7.2 per game.

The all-conference team is selected by league coaches and media.

Cincinnati's Jason Maxiell, Houston's Andre Owens, South Florida's Terrence Leather, Alabama-Birmingham's Donell Taylor and Memphis' Rodney Carney were on the second team.

Cincinnati's Eric Hicks, TCU's Corey Santee, Memphis' Darius Washington Jr., DePaul's Drake Deiner and Louisville's Taquan Dean made the third team.
