Sophomore guard Von Wafer, the only player to average at least 10 points per game this season for Florida State, plans to enter his name in the June 28 NBA draft, according to a report.

The Tallahassee (Fla.) Democrat, on its Web site, reported that Wafer's father revealed the Seminoles guard has not signed with an agent. As long as Wafer does not sign with an agent, he has until June 21 to remove his name from the draft pool.

"He has made tremendous progress in the last two years and we are confident in his ability to play at the next level," coach Leonard Hamilton told the Demorcrat. "He has done a very good job for us and we wish him well. We would love to have had him complete his four-year career with us. However, we respect the decision he and his family has made, and he has our support."

Wafer ranked 10th in the Atlantic Coast Conference in 3-point shot accuracy (39.6) and averaged 12.5 ppg. But he scored just one basket over the course of the season's final three games and had his playing time reduced due to disciplinary reasons and defensive failings, the Democrat reported.

Wafer can improve his draft stock by participating in the NBA's pre-draft camps.

"This has always been a dream of mine," Wafer said in comments released through Florida State and quoted in the Democrat. "I feel this is the closest I have been to reaching the dream, so I wanted to go and grab the chance. I believe in myself and believe I can make it happen.

"I am going to continue to attend class and make progress toward attaining my degree."
