Francis endured 5-23 season
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- Prairie View A&M men's basketball coach Jerry Francis will not return to the school after his team went 5-23 last season, his worst in three years at the helm of the program, according to a broadcast report.
Prairie View A&M athletic director Charles McClelland told Houston television station KRIV he accepted Francis' resignation effective Saturday.
"I plan to meet with the athletic oversight council next week about the future of men's basketball at Prairie View," McClelland told KRIV.
Francis leaves Prairie View A&M with a 29-55 record.
