Jegede, Ford sign letters of intent with Aggies
LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- New Mexico State men's basketball coach Reggie Theus announced Wednesday that junior college forward Supo Jegede and high school forward Kevin Ford have signed letters of intent to play for the Aggies.
Theus said the two will join the team this fall after graduating from their respective schools.
"These two players are important players for us," Theus said. "We obviously need to beef up last year's team and both these guys will help us do that. What we want are players that know what winning is all about. That is the start of the education of winning."
As a sophomore at Northeastern Junior College in Colorado, Jegede averaged 10.3 points and six rebounds a game while helping the Plainsmen to their best finish in school history. They were 28-9 last season and advanced to the NJCAA championship game.
Ford averaged 10.2 points per game and helped lead Jefferson High School in Portland, Ore., to a 23-4 record and a trip to the state championship game last season.
