Bennett, Green clear up misunderstanding
PULLMAN, Wash. -- What looked like a tantrum that ended Randy Green's basketball career at Washington State turned out to be a big misunderstanding.
Green, the team's only senior, left the Cougars' arena with about five minutes to go in a 64-47 win over Wyoming on Wednesday night.
After the game, coach Dick Bennett said Green left because he was upset at being removed from play and that he would not be returning to the team.
But Bennett and Green discovered at a meeting Thursday that Green mistakenly thought he had been ordered by Bennett to leave the court, team spokesman Craig Lawson said Thursday.
"He will be at practice tonight," Lawson said.
Washington State (3-1) hosts Kansas State on Saturday.
