Arizona redshirt guard Verdejo to transfer to Miami
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona guard Jesus Verdejo will transfer to the University of Miami, Wildcats coach Lute Olson said Saturday.
"He wanted to be closer to home, and we support him in that decision," Olson said.
Verdejo, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Carolina, Puerto Rico, opted to redshirt this season after seeing little playing time as a freshman in 2004-05, when he averaged 2.3 points.
His last game action came in August, when he averaged 11.9 points and 2.3 rebounds for the seventh-place Puerto Rican national team at the FIBA Under-21 World Championships.
