Ball State reassigns Buckley, dumps assistants
MUNCIE, Indiana -- Tim Buckley is out as the men's basketball coach at Ball State.
The Cardinals announced Wednesday that Buckley will be assigned to university development, effective on Monday.
Assistant coaches Steve Lynch, Jay Bryant and Jamall Walker were also dismissed.
"This is an extremely difficult decision," Ball State athletic director Tom Collins said. "Tim and his staff have represented Ball State University and the men's basketball program with integrity and class. It's a tough situation. However, I feel it is the right time to make this change with our men's basketball program."
Buckley went 143-139 in six seasons with the Cardinals, including 89-81 in Mid-American Conference play. This season, the team went 10-18, including 6-12 in league play.
