ATLANTA -- Rudy Gay of Connecticut, Adam Morrison of Gonzaga, J.J. Redick of Duke and Allan Ray of Villanova were chosen Tuesday as finalists for the Naismith Trophy as the top college basketball player in the country.
The Atlanta Tipoff Club's board of selectors, composed of journalists, coaches and administrators, whittled a list of 30 prospective winners down to the final four.
Fans will have a chance to vote for the winner through text messaging "VOTE" to 87654 to receive a ballot and participate in the selection, the club said.
The men's college player of the year will be announced in Indianapolis on April 2.
