Former Idaho coach Farrar joins Wyoming staff
LARAMIE, Wyo. -- David Farrar has been hired as an assistant basketball coach at Wyoming, head coach Steve McClain announced Friday.
Last season, Farrar was assistant coach at the University of South Alabama, which is in the Sun Belt Conference.
Farrar's previous coaching experience includes head coaching stints at the University of Idaho (1997-2001), Middle Tennessee State University (1991-96) and Hutchinson Community College (1986-91) in Hutchinson, Kan.
McClain was an assistant coach under Farrar at Hutchinson when the Dragons won the 1988 National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship.
In his 17 seasons as a head coach at the junior college and NCAA Division I levels, Farrar's teams won a total of 349 games, including 110 Division I victories.
Farrar replaces John Adams, who resigned to run a family business in Iowa.
