Marquette extends hoops coach Crean through 2017
MILWAUKEE -- Marquette extended the contract of men's basketball coach Tom Crean through the 2016-2017 season.
In his seven seasons, Crean has led the Golden Eagles to an average of 20 wins, a conference championship and six postseason appearances, including the 2003 Final Four. The 40-year-old Crean has an overall record of 141-76 (.650) at Marquette.
"Marquette is proud to have attracted and to be able to retain a coach of Tom Crean's quality," university president Robert A. Wild said Tuesday in a statement.
Terms of the contract were not made available.
