SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State junior center Jerome Habel, a probable starter, and teammate Brett Hoerner were suspended indefinitely on Tuesday for violating unspecified team rules.

Coach Steve Fisher said the two will practice but won't play until he decides to lift the suspensions.

"We'll move forward from there," Fisher said. "I think life is full of issues and when you deal with young people, those of us who have kids can understand, you love them to death but they don't always do things the right way all the time. You discipline and move forward. They are good kids. It happened and now we deal with it and hopefully we have a happy ending."
