Fazekas to miss game with sprained ankle
Nevada senior forward and national player of the year candidate Nick Fazekas will miss Thursday's game at San Jose State because of a sprained left ankle, Wolf Pack coach Mark Fox told ESPN.com Tuesday.
Fox said X-rays were negative Tuesday. Fazekas injured his ankle during Monday night's win over Boise State.
"We had to play 21 minutes without him after he had already scored 21 points and 12 rebounds," Fox said. "We may just keep him home to have him get treatment and then have him fly out to meet us in Hawaii."
Nevada plays at Hawaii on Saturday.
Fox said he may go with a smaller lineup without Fazekas. Fazekas has been a regular double-double player, putting up near 20 points and 10 boards on a regular basis.
