Pitt's leading scorer, rebounder to play vs. Marquette
PITTSBURGH -- Pitt center Aaron Gray is expected to play Sunday against Marquette (No. 24 AP) after missing two days of practice because of an injured right wrist.
The 7-footer was held out of practice Thursday and Friday after having 22 points and 19 rebounds in the No. 6 Panthers' 63-54 victory Tuesday over Connecticut. Gray was injured in a shootaround several hours before the game.
"It's nothing worse than what it was when he played [against UConn]," Pitt coach Jamie Dixon said. "You have to think that things will be fine. It's just discomfort. I really don't know what it is. It doesn't hurt any more than it did when he played with it."
Gray, the Big East preseason player of the year, averages a team-high 15.1 points and 10.3 rebounds. The Panthers (17-2, 5-0 in Big East) have won seven consecutive games and are the only Big East team that hasn't lost a conference game.
