Source: Chicago State hiring Tulane assistant
Chicago State will name Tulane assistant Benjy Taylor to replace Kevin Jones as its next men's basketball coach, a source close to the search told ESPN.com on Tuesday.
Taylor has been with Tulane coach Dave Dickerson the past two seasons. He served as a head coach at Division III North Central College in Naperville, Ill., and served as an assistant at Indiana State prior to arriving at Tulane. He played at Richmond and graduated in 1989.
Chicago State, a Division I independent, went 9-20 last season.
The hiring, expoected to be announced at a news conference Wednesday, leaves just a handful of Division I openings remaining: Maryland-Eastern Shore, Norfolk State, Princeton, Saint Louis, South Carolina State and UC Riverside.
