Misdemeanor charges against Bozeman dismissed

Morgan State coach Todd Bozeman has gotten out of a pickle he brought upon himself over a sandwich order following an early-February game.

Two misdemeanor charges against Bozeman were dismissed on Tuesday after he reached an undisclosed financial settlement with the manager of a Farmville, Va., restaurant and made a courtroom apology.

"Your honor, I would like to apologize to Mulligan's [Sports Grille]," Bozeman said, according to The Baltimore Sun, in a brief proceeding that followed negotiations with the manager, Stephanie J. Schreck.

Bozeman declined to comment following his court appearance.

"It was all about a misunderstanding about a sandwich [order] after a game," Murray J. Janus, Bozeman's attorney, told The Sun.

Bozeman was charged Feb. 3 with misdemeanor assault after arguing with Schreck following Morgan State's loss at the buzzer to Longwood. According to The Sun, Bozeman went to Mulligan's to register a complaint about the team's order.

According to restaurant manager Carlos Holland, Bozeman "just went belligerent, screaming that he didn't want ham sandwiches."

"We had kids in here eating, nice and quiet with their families," Holland said at the time. "He's the head coach of a university, showing a bad example."

In his first season as Morgan State's coach, Bozeman led the Bears to a 13-18 record. They reached the semifinals of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament.
