Burns fired at Eastern Washington

CHENEY, Wash. -- Mike Burns was dismissed as men's basketball coach at Eastern Washington on Wednesday.
Burns, who had two years remaining on a five-year contract, was notified of the decision by interim athletic director Michael Westfall.
In his three seasons, Burns compiled a 38-49 record, including 22-22 in the Big Sky Conference. Burns was an Eagles' assistant coach from 2000-03.
