FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Arkansas small forward Sonny Weems has a fracture in his left hand.
Weems, the Razorbacks' second-leading scorer last season, hurt himself during a Tuesday practice and will miss the team's two games set for Labor Day weekend in Cancun, Mexico. He will not need surgery, however.
"He will be in a cast for four weeks and then in a soft cast," coach John Pelphrey said Wednesday. "He should be back for the start of fall practice."
Pelphrey said guard Stefen Welsh (hamstring) is at about 60 percent.
"As long as he doesn't have any setbacks, I think he'll try to play [this weekend]," Pelphrey said.
