Kansas (13-0), Texas (13-0), Kentucky (15-0) and Purdue (13-0) are the top four in the rankings for the second week in a row. Syracuse and West Virginia, unbeaten heading into play last week, both lost and fell in the rankings -- Syracuse (13-1) from fifth to seventh, West Virginia (11-1) from sixth to eighth.
That opened the door for Duke (12-1) and Villanova (13-1) to each climb two spots to fifth and sixth, respectively. North Carolina (11-3) remained ninth in the latest rankings, followed by Kansas State (13-1), which climbed from 12th to 10th.
Connecticut (10-3), which lost its Big East opener to Cincinnati, fell from 10th to 13th.
This week's schedule offers few battles of ranked teams. Saturday, Connecticut is at No. 12 Georgetown (noon ET, ESPN), while Duke visits No. 17 Georgia Tech (2 p.m. ET, ESPN).
Sunday, Kansas faces No. 15 Tennessee.
