New Mexico junior forward Darington Hobson will forego his senior season and remain in the NBA draft, Lobos coach Steve Alford confirmed Friday night.
The deadline to withdraw under a new NCAA rule is 5 p.m. Saturday.
Hobson averaged 15.9 points and 9.3 rebounds for the Mountain West champs (30-5, 14-2) in his lone season in Albuquerque. Hobson helped lead New Mexico to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Hobson is projected to be a late first-round pick in the NBA draft.
