Tracy Smith injured for NC State
RALEIGH, N.C. -- North Carolina State Wolfpack forward Tracy Smith will miss three weeks because of a knee injury.
The school said Friday night that no major damage was found during arthroscopic knee surgery performed earlier in the day in Raleigh.
He played only 6 minutes in North Carolina State's 85-65 win over East Carolina on Thursday in Charleston, S.C. He went to the locker room for a time, then returned with his left leg wrapped. He did not play again and limped to team huddles.
Smith is one of N.C. State's most experienced players with 51 starts in the 87 games he has played.
Playing without Smith, the Wolfpack advanced to championship game against No. 20 Georgetown by beating George Mason 78-65 on Friday night.
