The Mountain West has two teams in the top 10 of this week's ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll with the addition of BYU at No. 10.
The Cougars (16-1) join No. 6 San Diego State in the top half of the poll. The top seven teams in this week's poll are unchanged from last week, with Duke remaining a unanimous No. 1. The Blue Devils are followed by Ohio State, Kansas, Syracuse and Pittsburgh in the top five.
Undefeated San Diego State is still at No. 6, followed by Villanova, Purdue, Connecticut and BYU.
With BYU climbing up the polls and San Diego State still undefeated, their two scheduled conference games could take on a much greater profile. The Aztecs are scheduled to visit Provo, Utah, on Jan. 26, with the Cougars heading to San Diego for a rematch on Feb. 26.
Purdue climbed two spots as former No. 8 Missouri fell to No. 12 after losing its Big 12 opener at Colorado. Connecticut stayed at No. 9 after splitting last week's games, losing to Notre Dame and edging No. 14 Texas in overtime.
The Big East has seven teams in the Top 25, including four in the top 10.
No. 18 Washington, No. 21 Wisconsin and No. 23 Temple entered the poll this week, while Memphis, Vanderbilt and Cincinnati fell out.
