DAVIS, Calif. -- UC Davis men's basketball coach Gary Stewart is stepping down after eight seasons with the Aggies.
Athletic director Greg Warzecka announced Wednesday that Stewart will become a special projects administrator in the athletic department.
Stewart had an 88-148 overall record during his tenure with the Aggies and was 21-43 in four seasons of Big West play. UC Davis finished this past season with a 10-20 overall record and 4-12 mark in league play.
Warzecka says a search for a replacement will begin immediately.
