New Orleans coach Joe Pasternack will leave the Privateers to join Arizona's staff as an assistant, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told ESPN.com.

Pasternack will replace Archie Miller, brother of Arizona coach Sean Miller, on the Wildcats' staff.

Archie Miller was hired in early April to coach Dayton.

Pasternack was a former assistant at California before going to UNO.

Pasternack is departing New Orleans as the Privateers make the transition from NCAA Division I athletics to Division II. Citing financial issues in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, UNO left the Sun Belt last year and played as a Division I independent.
