PALO ALTO, California (Ticker) -- Top-ranked Stanford can
extend its winning streak to 24 games on Thursday when it seeks
a 10th straight victory over Pac-10 Conference foe Oregon State.
Stanford (23-0, 14-0 Pac-10) already has clinched the Pac-10
regular season title and is bidding to become the first team in
the history of the conference to go unbeaten since the league
expanded to 10 teams. The Cardinal host the schools from Oregon
this weekend before visiting the Washington schools next week.
Rob Little scored 18 points and
Nick Robinson added 15 as
Stanford cruised to a 73-60 victory over UCLA on Saturday that
clinched the regular-season title.
Matt Lottich made all four
3-point attempts and finished with 14 points.
The Cardinal posted a 62-48 victory at Oregon State on January
29 in the first meeting. They finished with a school-record 13
blocks, including six by
Matt Haryasz and five by Josh
Childress.
Stanford also has a 10-game winning streak at Maples Pavilion
over Oregon State.
Oregon State (11-13, 5-9) has won two straight and comes off the
biggest win in coach Jay John's second season.
David Lucas and
Chris Stephens scored 22 points apiece in the Beavers' 90-84
upset of Arizona on Saturday.
The Beavers are tied with Washington State for eighth place in
the Pac-10 standings. Only the top eight teams qualify for the
Pac-10 tournament.
Oregon State is 1-21 all time against top-ranked opponents.
