LINCOLN, Nebraska (Ticker) -- Nebraska looks to notch a second
straight victory in the National Invitation Tournament on Friday
when it hosts Niagara in the first round.
Nebraska (17-12) ended a five-game losing streak to state rival
Creighton with a 61-60 victory on Tuesday.
Nate Johnson nailed
the go-ahead jumper with 11 seconds left as the Cornhuskers
rallied from a nine-point deficit in the final six minutes.
Niagara (22-9) received a big effort from
Juan Mendez in an
87-83 victory over Troy State on Wednesday. Mendez collected 20
points, 16 rebounds and five blocks for the Purple Eagles.
The winner will take on Hawaii in the second round.
