TALLAHASSEE, Florida (Ticker) -- After a thrilling victory, Florida State hopes to have an easier time when it hosts Iowa State on Tuesday in a National Invitation Tournament second-round matchup.

On Wednesday, the Seminoles (19-13) outlasted Wichita State on the road in double overtime, 91-84, after rallying from a 14-point second-half deficit.

Nate Johnson buried a 3-pointer to start the second overtime and Andrew Wilson made four free throws in the final 15.1 seconds for Florida State, which was making its first postseason appearance in six years.

The Seminoles had lost five straight and seven of their previous nine games and trailed by 10 points with 4 1/2 minutes left in regulation.

Iowa State (18-12) beat Georgia at home in its first-round contest on Wednesday, 82-74, as Curtis Stinson scored 15 of his 21 in the second half without missing a shot.

Jackson Vroman scored 23 points on 7-of-9 shooting for the Cyclones, who shot a sizzling 81 percent (17-of-21) in the second half and 74 percent overall (29-of-39).

The Seminoles won the teams' only previous encounter, 109-86, in the second round of the Preseason NIT on November 20, 1992.
