SYRACUSE, New York (Ticker) -- Gerry McNamara and Hakim Warrick hope to get a little more help from their teammates Monday when eighth-ranked Syracuse looks to avenge an earlier Big East Conference loss to No. 15 Pittsburgh.

In the first meeting on January 29, McNamara scored 26 points and Warrick added 25 but no other player scored more than four as the Orange dropped a 76-69 decision at Pittsburgh.

Carl Krauser collected 19 points and nine assists and Chevon Troutman contributed 18 points and nine assists for the Panthers, who rallied from a 17-point deficit.

Syracuse's two Player of the Year candidates did get some support in Saturday's 90-75 victory over No. 25 Villanova from Josh Pace, who scored 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting.

Warrick had a career-high 32 points and 12 rebounds while McNamara added 18 points as Syracuse moved within one-half game of Boston College for first place in the Big East standings at 9-2.

Pittsburgh will be Syracuse's third consecutive ranked opponent. Prior to defeating Villanova, the Orange dropped a 74-66 decision to No. 14 Connecticut.

Pittsburgh is coming off a 68-66 win over Notre Dame on Saturday, which improved its conference mark to 7-3, tied with Connecticut for fourth place.

Krauser lost two teeth after being knocked to the floor in the second half of the win over Notre Dame, but returned to hit the go-ahead basket with 11 seconds remaining.
