Lehigh (5-6) at No. 7 Washington (9-0) 8:00 pm EST
SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Already the owner of the longest homecourt
winning streak in the nation, No. 7 Washington will attempt to
make history at the Bank of America Arena on Friday when it
hosts Lehigh.
The Huskies, who have won 30 consecutive games at home, have won
799 games here, the most of any team in the nation at its
current home.
The top-scoring team in the country with a 95.8 average,
Washington has won nine in a row, its longest run since the
1981-82 season. Its 9-0 start is the program's best since the
1975-76 squad opened 14-0.
The series of streaks continued with a 91-74 victory over
Eastern Washington on December 16.
Jamaal Williams scored a
career-high 26 points and
Brandon Roy added 25 for the Huskies.
Senior swingman Bobby Jones was held scoreless in six minutes
before leaving with an ankle injury. He remains 12 points shy
of becoming the 30th player in school history to reach 1,000.
Roy is 35 points short of the milestone.
Lehigh completed a 2-0 homestand with a 71-57 victory over
Monmouth on December 12.
Bryan White scored 18 points on
9-of-13 shooting and
Jose Olivero had 14, 10 rebounds and five
blocked shots for the Mountain Hawks.
Washington posted an 82-66 victory over Lehigh in 1995 in the
only prior meeting between the teams.
