No. 21 Washington (19-5) at Oregon St (11-14) 10:00 pm EST
CORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) -- No. 21 Washington hopes to reach
the 20-win mark for the second straight season when it visits
Pac-10 rival Oregon State on Saturday.
The Huskies (19-5, 8-5 Pac-10) tied a school record with 29
wins last season en route to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA
tournament. A three-game road losing streak cost them a chance
of matching that mark.
Washington rebounded from the slide by posting home victories
over Southern California and then-No. 12 UCLA before escaping
with a 75-72 win Thursday at Oregon.
Brandon Roy led Washington with 21 points and freshman Jon
Brockman added 14 points and seven rebounds. The Huskies
trail UCLA by two games in the conference standings.
The Beavers (11-14, 4-10) snapped a six-game losing streak with
a 71-62 victory over Washington State on Thursday.
Sasa Cuic scored 23 points - one shy of his career high - and
Marcel Jones added 12 points and seven rebounds for Oregon
State, which has lost eight of nine since losing point guard
Lamar Hurd to a groin injury.
Washington has won four of its last five against Oregon State,
but lost the last meeting here, 90-73 on February 13, 2005.
