ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Reserve Chris Booker had 17 points and eight rebounds and Purdue defeated Seton Hall 75-63 Friday in the semifinals of the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout.

The Boilermakers (3-0) broke open a close game midway through the second half and closed out the victory by shooting 13-for-14 from the line.

Seton Hall (2-1) scored the first eight points, all in the paint, for its biggest lead of the game.

Purdue made just three field goals in the first 11 minutes, but tied the game at 14 at 8:59 on two free throws by Booker. The Boilermakers did not trail the rest of the half, and led by as many as five points.

Booker and Melvin Buckley each had eight points in reserve roles for Purdue. The Boilermakers shot 31 percent -- just 20 percent by the starting five -- and Seton Hall 33 percent for the half.

The second half featured six ties and two lead changes.

Brian Buscher's slam dunk started a 17-4 Purdue run that gave the Boilermakers a 58-47 lead with 6:30 remaining. Buscher had nine of his 10 points in the outburst.

Andre Barrett had a steal and a layup as Seton Hall closed within 60-54 at 4:01, but the Pirates got no closer.

Barrett led Seton Hall with 15 points and five assists, but also had six turnovers. Andre Sweet had 13 points.
