Richardson, whose previous career high was 20 points, hit 10 of
13 shots, including four of five from 3-point distance.
Tim Pickett added 21 for the Seminoles (5-0), who had runs of
24-9 and 18-3 in the second half when they outscored the visitors
Northwestern (2-3) led 31-26 at halftime and built its advantage
to 34-26 before Richardson keyed the 24-9 run that put Florida
State into 50-43 lead.
The Wildcats pulled to within 50-48 on a pair of free throws by
Young with 9:52 left when Florida State went on an 18-3 tear to put
the game away.
Florida State shot 56.3 percent and was 54.5 percent from
3-poing range with Pickett going 5-for-8 behind the arc.
