BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- Five different players scored in
double-figures for the University of Mary as the Marauders beat
North Dakota 86-54 Wednesday.
Josh Franzen scored 17 points for the Marauders (4-0), while
Anish Sharda tallied 13. Jamaal Smith, Chuck Archambault and Matt
Barton added 12 points apiece.Mike Johnson, Evan Lindahl and Todd Rypkema scored 12 apiece in
the loss for the Fighting Sioux (0-2).The two teams had never met before on Mary's home court."Of course this is a surprise," said Marauders head coach Jim
Feeney. "But to be honest, I had a good feeling going in because
the guys have been really focused."The Fighting Sioux led 17-14 with 12:14 to play in the first
half, but the Marauders went on a tear and never gave up the lead
again.The Marauders shot 56 percent from the field and 58 from 3-point
land. The fighting Sioux had a 36 percent field goal percentage and
made only two of 10 3-pointers.
