Michigan State ends Terrapins' championship reign

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- Five different players scored in double-figures for the University of Mary as the Marauders beat North Dakota 86-54 Wednesday.

Josh Franzen scored 17 points for the Marauders (4-0), while Anish Sharda tallied 13. Jamaal Smith, Chuck Archambault and Matt Barton added 12 points apiece.

Mike Johnson, Evan Lindahl and Todd Rypkema scored 12 apiece in the loss for the Fighting Sioux (0-2).

The two teams had never met before on Mary's home court.

"Of course this is a surprise," said Marauders head coach Jim Feeney. "But to be honest, I had a good feeling going in because the guys have been really focused."

The Fighting Sioux led 17-14 with 12:14 to play in the first half, but the Marauders went on a tear and never gave up the lead again.

The Marauders shot 56 percent from the field and 58 from 3-point land. The fighting Sioux had a 36 percent field goal percentage and made only two of 10 3-pointers.
