Sooners get 25 points from Ere to advance

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Bruce Horan scored 17 points, including five
3-pointers, to lead Butler to a 69-60 win over Wayne State,
Michigan, Wednesday night in exhibition play.

Wayne State led by as many as 11 points in the second half
before the Bulldogs mounted a 35-15 run to close the game.

James Davis and Kendall LeSure each scored 13 points to lead
Wayne State. A.J. Parker made a layup with 13:29 to play in the
second half that gave Wayne State a 45-34 lead.

The Bulldogs responded with 3-pointers, two by Horan, on their
next three possessions to take a 48-45 lead. Horan shot 5-of-9 from
behind the 3-point arc on the night.

Butler won the game at the free-throw line, making 24-of-29 foul
shots. Wayne State was just 6-for-6 from the foul line.

Duane Lightfoot scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds, and
Mike Monserez chipped in 11 points and went 8-for-8 on free throws
for Butler.

The Bulldogs shot just 28 percent in the first half while
falling behind 31-27. They made 55 percent of their shots in the
second half in the comeback.
