LSU 66, Centenary 63

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) -- Antonio Hudson scored 22 points as LSU
defeated Centenary 66-63 Saturday night for coach John Brady's
200th career victory.

Jaime Lloreda added 18 points for the Tigers (9-1) and Brandon
Bass had 10.

"We were fortunate to win the game. I give all the credit to
Centenary because they outplayed us and outhustled us for loose
balls. However, I'll take any win we can get," LSU head coach John
Brady said.

Andrew Wisniewski led Centenary (6-5) with 21 points and five
rebounds, while Chad Maclies added 12 and five rebounds. Michael
Gale had 11 points.

The Gents got the jump on the Tigers, going up by as much as 11
points at 30-19 with 4:24 remaining in the first half. But LSU went
on a 12-4 run at the end of the first half to cut the lead to three
at 34-31 at halftime.

Centenary head coach Kevin Johnson said he was pleased with how
close his team stayed to LSU.

"I think that's a credit to our guys. Andrew Wisniewski, Rickey
Evans, and Ronald Mickel are examples of senior who are warriors.
There is no quit to these guys," he said.

The Gents scored four points in the first minute of the second
half to go up by seven, but the Tigers slowly chipped away at the
lead. LSU took its first lead of the game at 44-42 on an Antonio
Hudson 3-pointer and held off Centenary throughout the rest of the
half.

Centenary managed to tie it up with 4:45 left to play, but a
jumper by Lloreda finished off the Gents.
