NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) -- DeShaun Williams scored 25 points to
lead Iona to a 74-54 victory over Marist on Wednesday night,
snapping the Gaels' three-game losing streak.
Steve Smith had 12 points and eight rebounds for Iona (4-8, 2-1
MAAC), while Steve Burtt had 12 points and Marvin McCullough had
nine points, eight rebounds and seven assists.Kerry Parks had nine points for the Red Foxes (3-9, 1-2).Parks connected on his first four shots from the field as Marist
took a 15-9 lead. But Iona went on a 19-6 run over the next 11
minutes and took a 35-26 halftime lead. The Gaels shot 54.2 percent
from the field, while holding Marist to 37.9 percent in the half.The Gaels outscored the Red Foxes 19-4 over the first 6:38 of
the second half, taking a 56-32 lead on a jumper by Anthony Bruin.
