VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) -- Nick Billings and Brandon Carter each scored 22 points to lead Binghamton to an 80-71 win over Stony Brook Sunday.

Leading 70-67 with 2:59 left in the game, Binghamton went on a 9-2 run to pull away from Stony Brook. The Bearcats (8-11, 4-4 America East) hit six of eight free throws in the final 1:10 to seal the win.

Binghamton shot 61.5 percent from the field in the second half.

Sebastian Hermenier scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Bearcats.

Mike Popoko led Stony Brook (6-11, 3-5) with 14 points. Mike Orfini scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Cori Spencer added 12 points.
