DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Ramod Marshall scored 21 points and made an
off-balance 10-foot jumper in the final minute, leading Dayton to a
74-67 win over Xavier on Saturday.
Keith Waleskowski added 17 points and nine rebounds and Sean
Finn scored 15 points for the Flyers.Dayton (17-3, 7-0 Atlantic 10) moved five games ahead of the
Musketeers (10-9, 2-5) in the A10 West while snapping a five-game
home losing streak against Xavier.Romain Sato led Xavier with 21 points. Dedrick Finn scored 14
while Justin Doellman and Anthony Myles each had 11.Sean Finn's jumper with 2:22 remaining put Dayton ahead to stay
66-64, and Waleskowski converted a three-point play for a
five-point lead with 1:38 left.After Sato hit a 3-pointer for Xavier, Marshall knocked down a
fadeaway jumper in the lane to give Dayton a 71-67 lead with 56
seconds remaining. Waleskowski made one free throw with 24 seconds
left and Marshall made two with 10 seconds to go.The Musketeers missed their final six shots -- five of them 3s.Xavier outscored Dayton 18-9 over the final six minutes of the
first half to tie the score 34-all at the break, then opened the
second half on a 15-6 run to take a 49-40 lead with 13:43 to play.Dayton's James Cripe scored five of his nine points during a
10-2 run that pulled the Flyers to 51-50 with 10:54 remaining.
